The photographs above show how glass balustrade panes can lighten a hallway. These are normally 8 mm toughened safety glass with polished edges secured between the newel posts using stainless steel 'D' clamps which are available in a variety of finishes, or can be powder coated to a specific RAL colour.

Juliette balcony panels are installed using stainless steel 'stand-off' fittings fixed, into woodwork or brickwork on either side of the door set at a height above internal FFL to comply with Building Regulations.

Lanterns:

The photographs opposite illustrate a Lantern which provides a covered corridor between two adjoining pitched roofs. The owner of this charming large mid-Victorian property wished to fully utilise the space in two large attics and this is the way that it was achieved. Bespoke hardwood joinery and 6 mm toughened low-e, double glazed units with grey anti-sun tint, upto 3.2 metres long.

Greenhouses:

Starting in mid 2013 and completed in spring 2014, this early Victorian greenhouse within a Gloucestershire walled garden was completely de-glazed and the steel frames re-furbished and powder coated.

Each of the 17 seperate 15 ft high frames along the frontage were re-glazed using over 3000 new horticultural glass panes hand finished with a curved lower edge to provide an exact replica of the original overlapping 'fish-scale' design.

A new aluminium frame with french doors with side lights was incorporated into the rear wall of the greenhouse.

Photographs of another Victorian greenhouse we re-glazed at a National Trust property can be seen in our Historic Buildings section.
